民国初年，集贤武馆主人平伯被日本高手谷岚所杀，其子铁娃（川原）入山投大舌头，并将家传「霹雳拳」秘籍交予凤妞（王金凤）保存。铁娃于山中与大舌头之女红蝴蝶（施思）相处甚得。时谷岚之子谷刚（南宫勋）自日本学成归来，悦凤妞美色，挑拨其夫大熊（佟林）与铁娃之误会，幸得凤妞调解，铁娃取得大熊谅解，取回秘籍，辞别还山。后大熊与谷刚决战不敌，死于暗算；凤妞为拒谷刚淫辱，以自杀保清白。铁娃与红蝴蝶得悉，下山为凤妞报仇，卒赖「霹雳拳」的威力，置谷刚于死地.。仗义友善的瓢虫父子Cox和Junior为帮好友黑蚂蚁Mandible逃脱红蚂蚁的堵截，不幸从冰天雪地的法国流落至夏日炎炎的南美加勒比。他们用自己的勇敢、机智逃脱了热带雨林里螳螂及蜘蛛的魔爪，并结识了当地瓢虫，并与毛毛虫共同协力赶走了入侵他们家园的人类。与此同时Junior的勇敢也是它收获了爱情，希望留在美丽的加勒比。面对父子分别， Cox和Junior将会做什么样的选择呢？。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。
